Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine

East Asian Medicine (EAM), which includes acupuncture and other healing modalities, operates on a distinct paradigm that views the body as an interconnected system. Aimed at restoring balance and harmony within the body, this holistic approach can effectively treat symptoms by healing the root cause of the problem. By addressing the source of the issue, we are resolving complaints, not just masking them. EAM can serve as a standalone approach or can be used in parallel with your current medical team.

The ‘Map to Wellness Acupuncture’ name was inspired by each person’s individual health journey. Just like a road trip, there are so many possible paths on the Map, but choosing the one that’s right for you is important. As an acupuncturist practicing EAM, my approach is to create a personalized Map for you by understanding your goals, lifestyle, and unique health history. When clients arrive for their first acupuncture visit, they are often overwhelmed by many seemingly unrelated health concerns; however, usually, many of the concerns are related & stem from the same underlying imbalance. The good news is that by addressing this root cause and taking a comprehensive approach, we can often resolve multiple symptoms simultaneously, thereby treating the whole person’s Mind, Body, and Spirit.
